GODDAMN THAT FELT GOOD.
I got to serve Erica this morning. In person.
First, surprise. Then, confusion. Then shock. Then resignation. Then contempt.
It was better than any sunrise I’ve ever seen.
The look on her face was the most wonderful, beautiful, delightful thing I have laid eyes on in months. I’m going to be watching and re-watching that video clip for months to come, if not years.
As she walked to her Jeep after spending the night (redacted for civility) with the New Source, she didn’t even hear Sarah’s car drive up next to her. When she looked up and it was me, and did that whole “deer in the headlights” thing… *chef’s kiss*.
It definitely was not the plan for ME to hand her the paperwork, but damn if it wasn’t the greatest bonus, ever. It was such a pure, raw, intense feeling of satisfaction, to tell the woman that sexually assaulted me “you’ve been served”.
Absolutely beautiful. I literally have tears welling as I write this. It is so PERFECT to see accountability in action.
As I leaned out the window with a manila envelope full of court documents and handed it to her, I watched the face of a covert narcissist, liar, manipulator, abuser and toxic, evil actress run through the entire gamut of emotions in about 3 and a half seconds. It was unbelievably wonderful to see the effects of accountability roll across the face of my abuser in real time.
The civil suit is for sexual assault and emotional distress caused by the last three years of escalating misery. Three years interspersed with a smattering of “happy” moments that were really just moments that I was spoon-fed the false hope that I would ever be more than just a utility human and a sexy fun times vending machine for her.
.
Am I a bit smug? Gloating even?
Yeah, I am. I feel like I’ve earned that. I finally got to eke out just a moment of justice and take one step closer to holding my abuser accountable.
Oh, and as it turns out, Nanaimo really IS a super small town. Her new source (Hi, Dylan!) is someone Shawna mentored at Shaw, and remembers quite fondly. (Dylan, she says the door is always open if you want to talk) There’s a lot of Shaw folks that know him. Shaw is a small group, and I find it HYSTERICAL that Erica hitched her wagon to a guy who his so connected to this little community. They ALL know who he is.
I spent the day talking to friends and friends of friends. There are a few people out there tonight who are quite concerned for Dylan. She definitely has a type. Poor guy. He has NO idea what he’s in for waaaaaay down the road.
